Cop suspended over claims of fondling youth

PETALING JAYA: A 23-year-old constable has been suspended pending investigations into allegations that he molested a male American college student at the Puchong station.

The student, in his 20s, of a private college here was picked up from his Subang area home for possession of cannabis recently.

In his police report last week, he alleged that the constable came to his lock-up, handcuffed and blindfolded him and took him to a room supposedly to interrogate.

There someone unzipped his pants and started fondling his private parts for several minutes.

PJ Selatan deputy OCPD Asst Comm Osman Abu Bakar confirmed that a policeman had been suspended for not following procedures while taking out a detainee from the lock-up.

It is learned that apart from molesting the student, the ‘person’ had also taunted him about his private parts and sexuality.

The student was later returned to the lock-up and warned not to relate the incident to anyone.

He subsequently lodged a police report.

During investigations, the student identified the constable as the person who came to the lock-up and took him away.

The student, whose parents are in the United States, has been staying here for about 10 years.

The Constable was confirmed in his rank three years ago.
